We are pleased to announce the 8th TSKUK Junior & Cadet Open Shotokan Championships 2017 will be taking place on Sunday 9th July 2017 at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, Garon Park, Eastern Avenue, Southend-On-Sea, Essex, SS2 4FA
There will be individual categories for Kata (forms), Kumite (sparring) and also Team Kata and Team Kumite Events. The competition is open to Juniors (6-14yrs) and Cadet (15-17yrs), from red belt and above. There will be medals presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for Kata and 1st, 2nd and joint 3rd places for Kumite events. All entrants will receive an official TSKUK blue grading stamp, so please bring your grading licence book. Each competitor will also receive a TSKUK wristband for taking part.
All competitors will be competing against other students at a similar age and level of ability. All Kata events are separated by grade and all Kumite (sparring) events are separated by age, grade, height and gender.
If you wish to compete, please fill in the TSKUK competition entry form and return it to your club administrator along with your entry fees by Sunday 2nd July 2017.

INDIVIDUAL KATA
Elimination kata will be Heian & Tekki Shodan through to the final. The final kata is competitors choice.
TEAM KATA
Teams can be single or mixed gender. Just one kata is needed for eliminations and final
INDIVIDUAL KUMITE
Shobu Ippon rules. White P.U. sparring mitts and gumshields are compulsory. Chest & groin guards are optional
TEAM KUMITE
Teams consist of 3 athletes
